Cordice 0.1.0

The first release under our own numbering, and what it does and does not do yet.

Cordice is a fork of Stoat, which is itself the continuation of Revolt, rebuilt as a single monorepo. This is the first release numbered as our own project rather than inheriting upstream’s.

What works

Accounts, servers and channels, direct messages, real-time delivery, file uploads and link previews. The web client is the reference: whatever it does is what the product does.

What does not, yet

Voice and video are switched off. There are no mobile or desktop clients yet — those come once the web client is worth matching.

Why the version restarts at 0.1.0

Upstream was at 0.15. Carrying that number would have claimed a maturity this project has not earned, and implied a compatibility it does not promise. What we inherited is recorded precisely, commit by commit, in UPSTREAM.md.

Below 1.0 things may break between releases. 1.0 arrives when the messenger is worth relying on, not when a list runs out.
